Wiveliscombe has:
- 13,479 solar panels - 10 for every home in the town.
- They generate about 3.3 MWh of electricity per annum - 59% of Wivey’s domestic use.
- They save over 1,750 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
The first solar PV panels in Wivey were installed in 2009 and most were installated during 2011-14 (64 of the 73 installations in total).
There are 12,084 solar panels at Sandys Moor Solar Farm on the edge of town.
There are 104 solar panels at two other ground mounted installations.
There are 1,291 solar panels on 70 roofs in Wiveliscombe.
