Wiveliscombe public toilets cleaning contract
Wiveliscombe Town Council has taken over the toilets from Taunton Deane Borough Council, which would have closed them. Cotford Contract Cleaners have been cleaning the toilets successfully, and the contract is up for renewal, so we are reviewing our options. As a town council we are bound by financial regulations and must seek at least three quotes.
For information see below the schedule which forms part of our existing contract:
Servicing the facility by way of a daily visit which would involve:
- Cleaning toilet bowls
- Cleaning basins
- Mopping floors and a dry mop.
- Cleaning walls and other internal surfaces
- Replenishing toilet paper
- Supply and replenish soap
- Recording visit time and issues arising from visit.
- Removing rubbish from building.
- Cleaning the vents and grills on each of the extractor or ventilation ducts on a six-monthly basis or when required.
- Reporting any problems including damage and how the damage was caused to the Town Clerk on 01643 704963.
Also see Wiveliscombe Town Council’s General Terms and Conditions for contracts (downloadable from link on left of this text) which indicate what we would be asking you to comply with should you be successful. This includes a requirement for a Waste Carriers Licence which can be applied for online at: https://www.gov.uk/waste-carrier-or-broker-registration There is further information at: https://www.gov.uk/managing-your-waste-an-overview Under section 11 H&S, we would require an H&S statement, risk assessments and COSHH sheets for the cleaning materials which should be available from the manufacturers, etc. We would also want to know that there was availability for urgent cleaning should the need arise.
Obviously we do not need all these details for a quote, but we would like to hear from you if you are interested in taking on the contract for 12 months. Our next committee meeting is at the beginning of September, so it would be helpful if you could let us know before then.
I look forward to hearing from you.
