Are you interested in local food, drink, wood, flowers, micro-processing or activity-tourism? Are you a farmer, grower, woodlander, trainer, cook or micro-producer – or want to become one? Or perhaps you/your kids need more fun, outdoor classrooms?
Plotting the Future is an initiative designed to link up and support enterprise and activity that relates to the land -- to enhance its economic viability and sustainability. It aims also to create a broad, mixed menu of learning and work opportunities for the local community.
We are seeking funding to create a support hub, work/training/ opportunities and start-up/development support. The consultation has begun and this article is an attempt to find who else is out there in the community wanting to develop or support this area of work.
So do come out of those fields, flower meadows, cow sheds, forest glades, indoor classrooms and ideas factories and tell us what you are up to already, what you would like to do and what would help you to do it. It might be access to land or shared facilities; it might be free-lance work or workers, skills-trading, development of a local brand, community growing, or a Survival Club for your kids? You may have land or indoor venues that could furnish the project? You will have others to share ideas and dreams with...
This development stage is being coordinated with the support of the Wiveliscombe Area Partnership. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Kim on 01984 623657 or 07929 972758 if you feel so inclined.
