Wivey 1st XV started their 2005/06 Somerset One League programme in good form.

They are at present in second place (1st Nov), with big wins over Martock 85-5 and Broad Plain (Bristol) 57-0 followed with victories over Burnham-On-Sea, Crewkerne and Bristol Barbarians, losing only to North Petherton 20-13.

Winscombe, winning 22-12 on Oct 15th, knocked Wivey out of the ‘HPI Cup’.

1st XV League fixtures: Dec 3rd Imperial (home), Dec 10th Wells (away), Dec 17th Gordano (home), and the usual Boxing Day friendly, Dec 26th,Wellington (home).

Wivey 2nd XV are finding it difficult to field a settled team, although have achieved Merit Table victories over Minehead and North Petherton losing to Chard, Taunton 3rds, Bridgwater 3rds and Winscombe.

Wivey 3rd XV struggled for players early on but is now up and running.

Wivey Colts are very strong again this season with a good victory over Wellington, Taunton cried off, and beating Keynsham in Colts National Competition.

Wivey Ladies are up and running with the makings of a strong side.

Junior Rugby progresses at U16, U15, U13, U12 and U11’s and coach’s are always required!

Congratulations to local player Mark Barrington who represented English Fire Brigade against Scottish Police at Castle Croft RFC West Midlands on Weds 19th Oct, the Fire Brigade won 21-7.
