The bi-annual Ten Parishes Festival is here again!
From September 10th – 18th there’s the opportunity to visit local artists and choose from a host of events. There will be an exciting group of artists exhibiting at Stawley Wood, including Ashbrittle Art’s Jane Embleton, and visitors will be welcome at Avril Silk's workshop from noon till 6pm.
As part of the Ten Parishes Festival, Ashbrittle Arts is presenting The Juniper Tree, with Somerset storytellers Jane Flood and Beth Webb, on Wednesday, September 14th at 7.30 p.m. The dramatic setting of Stawley Wood (courtesy of the Luard family) will provide the backdrop for an outdoor performance of stories with an edge. The venue will be sign posted.
If you would like to come early with a picnic before the performance, you are most welcome to do so. You would then have the chance to look at the exhibitions of work by local artists, and listen to live, baroque music. You will certainly need warm clothing, unless the weather is bad, in which case the event will take place under shelter. Mulled wine will be served in the interval. Both halves of the performance last approximately 40 minutes each.
The programme is best suited to adults and older children.
Tickets cost £5, with concessions costing £3.50, and can be bought in advance from Avril Silk
There will be a Community Storytelling workshop, with Beth and Jane, prior to the performance, on Thursday, September 8th, at 7.30 p.m at The Globe, Appley. The workshop will be free – come and join us!
We are grateful to the Jim Laker Fund and Local Strategic Partnership Funding for financial help with this event.
