Credit unions enable the facility of borrowing small sums of money from a small community- based organisation
The very essence of a credit union is that it provides people who are connected by work or other association to a prescribed area ( the common bond), an opportunity to both save and borrow small, manageable amounts which they probably could not do via a high street bank. It is available to those who live, work in or are otherwise connected to the specified area and is of growing interest as a savings method for school children. Borrowing is restricted to those who already save and are over eighteen.
