The Wiveliscombe area is home to two major reservoirs for the South West, which provide much of the drinking water for homes and businesses in Somerset.
Wimbleball and Clatworthy are also home to various watersports, angling and camping grounds.
The River Tone also winds its way through the heart of the area, and provides many opporutunities for coarse fishing.
