Wiveliscombe is situated in very attractive country side with easy access to coasts and the surrounding uplands. Immediately to the north and west are the Brendon Hills, which merge with Exmoor National Park. To the north east lie the Quantock Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty .

Wiveliscombe's location enables access via the M5 to South coast resorts such as Dawlish Warren, Exmouth and Sidmouth within the hour. Together with Seaton and Lyme Regis, Sidmouth can also be reached via the Blackdown Hills. On the North coast Lynmouth is an hour's drive away by way of Dunkery Beacon, whilst Minehead, Watchet and Dunster are around thirty minutes away via the B3188.
