The pool was given to the community in 1927 and has been run by volunteers for the last 78 years! We have a committee, Pool Attendants & Gate Keepers and some dedicated swimmers who find time to keep the pool and its surroundings shipshape.The pool was completely revamped in 2002.
We are always looking for people with spare time in the afternoons to become Pool Attendants or Gate Keepers. Next year we hope to recruit Pool Guardians who will hopefully take on the role that the committee presently holds during open hours ( providing refreshments & information as well as being part of the Emergency team - for which 10mins training will be necessary) - this will be a 'meeting free' position which will hopefully appeal to some.
We are working towards an automatic dosing system which will considerably reduce the man hours spent at the pool.
