September 25th 2005-Fa yeung nin wa (In the Mood for Love)

Directed by Kar Wai Wong. A visually exquisite chamber piece with an atmosphere of claustrophobic desire; shot through with ravishing physical beauty and an infinite sadness .

October 16th 2005- Eloge De L'Amour (In Praise of Love)

Directed by Jean-Luc Godard. An intelligent, visually ravishing, witty meditation on life, love and popular culture.

November 13th 2005- Ein Lied von Liebe und Tod (Gloomy Sunday)

Directed by Rolf Schübel. A restaurant owner hires a pianist to play in his restaurant thus arises this wonderfully entertaining, old-fashioned melodrama of love and war.

January 15th 2006-Bu san (Goodbye, Dragon Inn)

Directed by Ming-liang Tsai. On a dark, wet night a historic and regal Chinese cinema sees its final film.

February 19th 2006-Le Goût des autres (The Taste of Others)

Directed by Agnès Jaoui. A Gallic comedy of manners, heavily-influenced by Woody Allen but ultimately derived from a David Lodge TV script, Jaoui’s directorial debut tells of a philistine industrialist in a loveless marriage whose life is turned around when he falls for an actress on a rare trip to the theatre. Jaoui weaves in various subplots about mismatch relationships…with, as they say, hilarious consequences.

March 19th 2006- Lakposhtha hâm parvaz mikonand (Turtles Can Fly)

Directed by Bahman Ghobadi. The Iraqi-Turkish border on the eve of an American invasion.

April 23rd 2006-Happiness of the Katakuris

Directed by Miike Takashi Three generations of the Katakuris leave Tokyo to open a bed and breakfast in the mountains. The guests start to arrive, but fail to check out. A delirious horror musical from one of Japan's most prolific and unpredictable directors.

May 14th 2006- Zivot je cudo (Life Is a Miracle)

Directed by Emir Kusturica. What could be better for the village than a scenic railway to bring in the tourists? Another riotous film from Kusturica.
