Wiveliscombe Area Website

10Radio is your local community radio station, set up and run by residents of the 10 Parishes area. It is entirely voluntary and not-for-profit.

10Radio first operated under a restricted service licence (RSL) for a period of 28 days in 2005, and again in 2006. In excess of 200 local people are involved in its operation, and so it is fantastic example of the community spirit in the Wiveliscombe area.

In January 2007, 10Radio was awarded a full time Community Radio Licence for a period of 5 years. During 2007, much work has been done to improve the training of those involved, raise funding, locate and adapt premises for full time operation. The licence runs from when we commenced broadcasting on 21 January 2008. We official celebrated our launch on 8th February 2008.

10Radio will broadcast to the 10 Parishes area of Ashbrittle, Bathealton, Brompton Ralph, Chipstable, Clatworthy, Fitzhead, Huish Champflower, Milverton, Stawley and Wiveliscombe.

10Radio is broadcast on 105.3FM, and is also available as an audio stream on the internet at www.10radio.org, and we hope to be able to offer 'listen again' type podcasts of some shows for download.

Kingsmead Community School is teaching students to make programmes, interview and edit. Their programmes will be broadcast in September and October and students will also host their own radio shows. Other funding has been approved by:The Jim Laker Fund, the Local Strategic Partnership, Kingsmead Community School and Wiveliscombe Parish Council.

Anyone is welcome to participate, whether it is behind the scenes, as a presenter, or perhaps a roving reporter!
