Juicing Your Own Apples?

The Ten Parish Fruit Group has had some exciting news. Their application to help fund the purchase of juicing equipment has been successful and so residents of Wiveliscombe and the nine surrounding parishes will now have access to an electric mill for pulping and a press, in addition to their pasteuriser.

The equipment is all easily mobile and will fit into the boot of a large car, light enough for one fit person to carry, and all you need is a normal plug socket and an outside tap. It is fast and easy to use but you do need a huge pile of apples!

The group was set up three years ago and has been borrowing similar equipment so only had limited availability to offer juicing through the fruit season. This was centred around the Apple Days organised each October in Wiveliscombe. However now they are pleased to be able to offer the equipment to hire for any resident of the Ten Parishes for a modest donation to help cover costs. So if you have fruit and would like to borrow the kit please contact 01984 623895 to book a date.

If you have a small amount of fruit and would like to attend one of their community juicing events or if you have fruit that you can't use but would like to donate then the group would also be delighted to hear from you. This can be made into juice which can then be sold to raise funds for the Group's other projects. Please contact 01984 623999.
